Where do you find a PR agency? Simply looking online may not give you all the information you need, and as their business is PR, they are all going to have good websites that seem good. It costs quite a bit of money so you want to be looking in the right places for the right PR company.

You have to obviously find the one that is right for you, not just the one with the best website. This is where it is invaluable to have contacts in the field who can point you in the right direction and share experiences of the different PR companies they have worked with. Every business has different needs, so you can work out if what worked for them is going to be what does it for you.

If you really want to crack into the traditional media outlets, then it helps to speak to any journalists you know. Ask them who they tend to listen to and take seriously and they will likely give you several names of credible PR agencies who are well known in the media community.

Traditional media may be an area you are keen to break into. If this is the case then it is good to ask any journalists you know or come in contact with what their experience has been and what names stand out and who they feel seems to have the most credibility and gravity in the field.

Hollis PR is a great directory of PR agencies. If you do not have many contacts are just need to know who is out there, it can be a good place to start. Finally, keeping it local is often sensible and useful. Being able to meet face to face often and work in the same general are generally improves success and is good for the relationship.
